He has had 15 years experience in practicing Ayurveda and yoga, has a doctorate in Oriental Medicine, a Masters of Science in Chinese Medicine, holds a Diploma of Ayurvedic Medicine practitioner and is certified in Natural therapeutics.

In 1987, he started teaching the basics of Ayurveda in the San Francisco College of Acupuncture, gave innumerable lectures and seminars on various aspects of Ayurveda and yoga in the course of the following years and in 1997 was appointed as a Head of the Ayurvedic Department at Bastyr University in the state of Washington, USA
