2011 - If Aristotle ran an Anti-Aging Practice
The philosophers of the centuries, from Plato to Aristotle to the present day, have left us the equivalent of a huge bank account of wisdom that we can draw on for a wealth of insight applicable to both, our daily business and the rest of life. We can invest this intellectual capital in our own careers and experiences and reap tremendous returns of new wisdom as a result.
If we let the great philosophers guide our thinking amid the turbulent and challenging times we face today, we then begin to become philosophers ourselves, we put ourselves in the very best position to move toward genuine excellence, true prosperity, and deeply satisfying success in our daily business, our families and our lives. Classical philosophy shows us the path to great morale, great productivity, success and satisfaction.
2011 - The Amortality Triad - Three Main Strategies to enjoy the Pleasure of Living Agelessly
By 2030 more than a quarter of humanity will probably be 60 or older, in some industrialized countries the 60-pluses will make up even more. By that time many of them will be inclined to keep working, rather than vegetating. The impulse to stay active and amortal*, if properly directed, could help ease the anticipated labor shortage and curb swelling health care costs. But for this purpose, there is one important condition: healthy longevity, good physical and mental functioning.
Being able to live out the days in strength and vitality, pursuing hopes and dreams, unhampered by sickness and debility to the very end, three lifestyle factors have probably the greatest impact: Exercise, nutrition, and sleep”. Of course, behavioural, environmental, and social issues may also have an impact, but when it comes to today’s trend of living agelessly, then those three lifestyle factors are of greatest importance as thousands of studies worldwide have clearly confirmed.
*amortal: people trying to live in the same way, at the same pitch, doing and consuming much the same things, from their late teens right up until death.
